Tree of Life

Art exploring mythic and alchemical imagery associated with trees evolving out of the Dark Forest series. Tree symbolism is one of the most detailed and universal in many cultures and religions going back to the earliest expressions of human consciousness. In the Indian great philosophical/spiritual treatise, the Upanishads, the universe is seen as an inverted tree: its roots are in Heaven and its branches embrace the Earth.

The branches grow towards what is low, the roots are on high, that its rays may descend upon us!
